The weeks go by and the interview of the Sussexes in front of Oprah Winfrey still excites the crowds, starting with John Lydon, the ex-leader of the S** Pistols, who went away with his comment after the revelations of Meghan and Harry. For him, the couple made a serious error of judgment by sitting in front of the goddess of American television.
The walls of Buckingham Palace shook on March 7, during the broadcast of the interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, a year after their departure from the Crown. A tremor that has left indelible traces in the hearts of the members of the royal family, with whom the trust is now broken. It is difficult for Prince Charles and Prince William to forgive the Sussexes for the revelations made during the interview with Oprah Winfrey, starting with the allegations of latent racism within the monarchy.
For John Lydon, the ex-leader of the S** Pistols, the Sussexes should never have washed their dirty laundry in public. If he understands their need for freedom, the singer wanted to warn them for the future. “My advice would be for them to mind their own business, because when you want to get off the radar, you don’t do an interview with Oprah Winfrey. That can only end badly,” he said. Then he continued with a dubious metaphor, addressed to Meghan and Harry: “Don’t put your head in the guillotine or the block, dear ones, because someone will gladly press that button”.
A tooth against Meghan Markle
John Lydon’s comments are far from surprising. For years, the British musician has always been very critical of the Crown. In 1977, his former band the S** Pistols had even released the controversial song God Save the Queen, removed from the airwaves by the BBC because of its controversial lyrics about the royal family. After the Sussexes left the Crown, John Lydon had made very violent comments against Meghan Markle, for no apparent reason.
“I don’t think she fits in with anyone. She’s a narcissist and this couple is very destructive. If they don’t want to be part of the institution, then why don’t they just give up their titles completely and get an apartment and a job?” said the man who should get along great with Piers Morgan…
