Prince Charles relieved to stop funding Meghan and Harry

After the Megxit, Prince Charles continued to fund Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to help them through the transition. That support stopped last summer when the Sussex couple became financially independent.

Good news for the Royals. Last June, the royal accounts were made public for the first time. The information contained in these documents showed that Prince Charles has indeed funded a “substantial sum” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle beyond the Megxit. A way for his father to “accompany them in this transition” according to the spokesman of Clarence House. And this was until last summer when the couple became “financially independent.”

Since then, Prince Charles has been “relieved” that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have taken themselves off the payroll, according to royal insiders reported by Mirror. And for good reason, the Prince of Wales gave the Sussexes nearly £4.5 million. Royal biographer Ingrid Seward told the Daily Mail, “I imagine Prince Charles will be relieved, because they will now be off his payroll, and the British public will be relieved too, because the Sussexes can pay off what they now owe on Frogmore Cottage, so it’s a win.” Their £2.4 million debt was able to be paid off thanks to the couple’s contracts. All’s well that ends well.

Prince Harry denied financial support? Lie

In the explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, the son of Prince Charles had said that he did not receive financial support from his family from the end of March 2020, which is when Elizabeth II gave her grandson a break. Meghan Markle‘s husband had also claimed that he was only able to get by financially thanks to the inheritance left by his late mother, which was about 7 million pounds.

“My family literally cut me off financially and I had to keep us safe…. But I have what my mother left me, without that we wouldn’t have been able to do it. I think she saw it coming. I certainly felt her there throughout this process,” Prince Harry said on CBS at the time. Prince Charles‘ spokesman, however, would not comment on whether the two versions are “diametrically opposed.” After all, “these are the facts,” he concluded.
