Sunday, August 15, Princess Anne celebrated her 71st birthday. On this occasion, her older brother, Prince Charles, shared a tender picture on social networks.
Another candle blown for Princess Anne! The daughter of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth has celebrated this Sunday her 71 years. The opportunity for her brother Charles – or rather for the team of the latter – to post on the account of Clarence House a souvenir photo of the princess when she was just a baby. On the black and white picture, dating from 1951, we can see Prince Charles, then 3 years old, leaning on the baby carriage of his little sister of barely one year.
He, dressed in a double-breasted vest, is wrapped in a blanket printed with dancing sailors, while Princess Anne, whom he is holding hands with, is wearing an adorable bonnet wrapped around her neck. A pretty photo that perfectly captures the complicity between the first two children of the Queen, and follows a first publication on the account of Clarence House, a few days earlier, showing the two eldest in the same year with their parents. While the two toddlers are busy around a row of flowers, in the garden of Clarence House, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, sitting on a blanket in the grass, look affectionately at their little ones.
Clarence House, a place full of history for Prince Charles
Clarence House, the scene of both photos, was the official residence of Elizabeth II and her family before she ascended the throne in 1952 upon the death of her father. Princess Anne was born there on August 15, 1950. Now, the royal residence, located 5 minutes walk from Buckingham Palace, is the official residence of Prince Charles and his wife Camilla. The reason why the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall appear under this name on social networks.
