Elizabeth II on vacation: She also enjoys her great-grandchildren

Queen Elizabeth II is enjoying her summer in her residence of Balmoral in Scotland. On August 23, the 95-year-old monarch was well accompanied and enjoyed a picnic in the sun.

Like every summer, Queen Elizabeth II went to her manor of Balmoral in Scotland. A first time marked by the absence of the man of her life, Prince Philip, who died on April 9 at Windsor Castle at the age of 99. But there was no question for the sovereign to change her habits and not to find her land full of memories, on the banks of the River Dee.

At Balmoral, fortunately, the sovereign is not alone and can count on the visit of her relatives. As reported by Hello, Elizabeth II enjoyed an outdoor lunch at Glen Muick in good company as she was accompanied by Savannah and Isla, the daughters of Peter Philips or those of Zara and Mike Tindall, Mia and Lena. One thing is sure, the Queen enjoyed a nice family moment, with her great-grandchildren. This is something that will make her feel better. At Glen Muick, Elizabeth II used to relax with her late husband…

Glen Muick: a place full of memories for Queen Elizabeth II

The day before the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh, the monarch had shared a moving picture of her and Prince Philip, sitting together on a picnic blanket as they enjoyed the scenery at the top of the Coyles of Muick in Scotland, in 2003. A very touching photo, which showed the royal couple in their daily life far from the gold of the palace, taken by Sophie of Wessex.

Queen Elizabeth II is expected to stay at Balmoral until mid-October, when she will return to Windsor Castle. Since the death of her husband and the health crisis, the 95-year-old sovereign no longer resides at Buckingham Palace. Still very active, the one who became queen at the age of 25 continues to manage the affairs of the crown. If Prince Charles plays an increasingly important role, Elizabeth II has not said her last word. The one who does not want to hear about abdication continues to honor her commitments, with rigor and determination.
