Kate Middleton: This very symbolic jewel says a lot about her relationship with Queen Elizabeth II

On Wednesday December 8, Kate Middleton had organized a Christmas concert at Westminster Abbey. For the occasion, the Duchess wore an elegant red outfit coupled with a pair of earrings that belonged to the Queen Mother.

This is a revealing clue to the relationship between Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth. This Wednesday, as the Duchess of Cambridge attended the Christmas concert in Westminster in honor of the heroes of the Covid-19 pandemic, the most observant could notice that she wore a pair of earrings far from being insignificant. The elegant diamond-set sapphire pendants once belonged to the Queen Mother, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the mother of Queen Elizabeth II, who was seen wearing them on numerous occasions. Upon her death in 2002, the earrings were returned to Elizabeth and are now part of her private collection. This is a nice gesture from the queen to the wife of her grandson. Kate Middleton had associated the famous pendants with a long red coat, edged with a Lavallière collar, and a pair of red pumps. As for the hairstyle, the duchess opted for a notched hair in the Hollywood glamour of the 1940s.

Kate Middleton: who was present at her event?

Kate could count on the obvious support of Prince William, present at the concert organized by his wife. Dressed in a navy blue suit, he still had the red tie to match the duchess’ outfit. Other members of the Royal family had made the trip, like Sophie Wessex, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie with their respective husbands, and Zara Tindall and her husband. Kate Middleton‘s family was also present: Carole and Mike, the parents of the Duchess, were present, as well as her sister Pippa, and her brother James, accompanied by his wife, Alizée.
