“We brought the weather, didn’t we?” Traveling to the Bahamas this Friday, March 25, Prince William couldn’t avoid joking about his native country as a torrential downpour hit the Caribbean. “Oh my goodness. The weather, sorry, we brought the rain from England with us,” apologized for his part his wife, Kate Middleton, according to the Daily Mail. Under large umbrellas, and always broad smiles, the queen’s grandson in fragile health and his wife continued their tour by visiting the Sybil Strachan Primary School in Nassau.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Bahamian schools have suffered the brunt of the crisis, with their doors remaining completely closed until recently. In a speech to students and faculty, the mother of George, Charlotte and Louis said, without hiding her emotion: “The last few years have not been easy for many of you.
One of the hardest things, I think we all found in the pandemic, was being separated from the people we love. But we’ve also had the chance to rediscover the importance of our families and friends.” Meghan Markle‘s sister-in-law also added that she hopes the weather improves so her children can “experience [their] clear waters and [their] beautiful beaches before too long.”
