A day full of emotion. This Tuesday, March 29 was held the ceremony in tribute to Prince Philip in Westminster Abbey in London. A large part of the British family was present to surround Queen Elizabeth II, whose arrival was uncertain until the last moment because of her health concerns. But as expected, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had not made the trip from California and they should not do so until their safety is assured.
On the other hand, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, daughters of Prince Andrew, were definitely present, accompanied by their respective husbands. The two sisters and young mothers had however left their respective children at home.
The two couples arrived at the same time at Westminster Abbey: Beatrice of York and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi ahead of Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank of a few steps. For the occasion, the eldest daughter of Andrew and Sarah Ferguson wore an elegant black coat with pleated details, accompanied by a pink dress, a pair of burgundy velvet pumps and a matching clutch. The whole thing was sublimated by a large headband with a veil decorated with flowers. For her part, Eugenie had also opted for a headband with veil, to complete her set composed of a floral pleated long dress Erdem and a black bolero.
Princess Beatrice bursts into tears
During the ceremony, several members of the royal family could not hide their emotion, almost a year after the death of the monarch’s husband. Princess Beatrice discreetly wiped away some tears at the beginning of the service, while hiding behind her booklet. She could count on the support of her husband Edoardo to console her. Elizabeth II also appeared with tears in her eyes.
