This Saturday, April 9, Princess Anne arrived in Sydney, Australia, to begin her official trip on behalf of the Queen.
After the couple of Cambridge, it’s Princess Anne’s turn to leave on an official trip. From this Saturday, April 9, and for three days, the daughter of Elizabeth II is present in Australia. This trip brings back some memories of the past, recalls Royal Stories. Indeed, the first time she opened the Sydney Royal Easter Show she accompanied her mother and her father, Prince Philip. It was in 1970. This April 9, 2022, it is on board a carriage and alongside her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, that Princess Anne made a remarkable entrance.
Expected to inaugurate the Sydney Royal Easter Show, a not-to-be-missed fair that celebrates its bicentennial this year, Princess Anne dressed up. At 71 years old, she appeared very elegant in a beige outfit that matched her hat. Then, after giving her speech, the princess changed to visit the fair. This time, she preferred a total look in shades of mint green with dark accessories. On this occasion, the royal stopped at various booths to chat with people present. She also attended the awarding of medals at a cattle competition.
Princess Anne in Australia
In addition to opening the Sydney Royal Easter Show, Princess Anne’s visit is part of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. While Australia is increasingly inclined to end the monarchy, the visit of a member of the royal family allows to keep links. On the agenda of this courtesy visit: an official dinner in the presence of high dignitaries of the country, the visit of the rural areas of the country and the visit to the Royal Australian Corps of Signals and the Royal Australian Corps of Transport. Princess Anne will then fly to Papua New Guinea. A beautiful trip that promises to be rich in emotions for the daughter of Elizabeth II.
