Princess Charlene of Monaco healed but “still fragile”: “I don’t want to go too fast”

Back on the Rock for a few weeks, Charlene of Monaco is slowly recovering from her heavy ENT infection. In an interview granted to “Monaco Matin”, the princess confided cautiously about her health.

The news is reassuring. After having been a victim, almost a year ago, of an important ENT infection that had prevented her from leaving South Africa for eight months, Charlene of Monaco is recovering little by little from her misadventures. As a proof, the wife of Albert II has multiplied the outings on the Rock these last days. Last appearance to date: the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week which was held Tuesday, May 24, 2022. However, the former champion swimmer is cautious about her form: “My health is still fragile and I do not want to go too fast. The way was long, difficult and so painful”, she confessed to Monaco Matin, Wednesday May 25, 2022.

The mother of Gabriella Thérèse Marie and Jacques Honoré Rainier confided with a certain restraint, perhaps in memory of her passage in Switzerland after her first return to the principality last November. In a “state of deep general fatigue” according to the palace, and dangerously thin on her return from the African continent, the princess had then benefited from a tailored supervision on the other side of the Alps. As revealed by the website Bunte, in March 2022, the care provided in this institution had allowed Charlene of Monaco to regain weight, but also many physical activities, such as yoga, but also swimming, her favorite discipline.

“I feel more serene”

To get back on track, Charlene of Monaco can also count on the support of her family. “When I returned to the Principality, I focused all my energy on my children, my husband and my health, because they are my priority. […] I am very happy to be back home in Monaco and with my family. I received so many positive and warm messages when I was away,” she told our colleagues of Monaco Matin. She added: “I feel more serene.”
