The celebrations of the platinum jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II begin this Thursday, June 2. For three days, the United Kingdom will vibrate to the rhythm of shows, parades and concerts in honor of the sovereign, on the throne for 70 years. But which international stars will be present?
The eyes of the world will soon be on the United Kingdom. From Thursday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5, the long-awaited celebrations of Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee will take place. For the occasion, dozens of international artists have been invited to participate in the multiple tributes that will be paid to the Queen during these three days. The festivities will be marked by a concert of at least 2h30 with a prestigious program organized by the BBC. Queen, now made up of musicians Brian May and Roger Meddows, will join forces with singer Adam Lambert to bring the golden age of the legendary band back to the British people.
20 years after participating in the golden jubilee of Elizabeth II from the roof of Buckingham Palace, guitarist Brian May hinted to the BBC that the performance he would give in early June would be even more spectacular. The 70th anniversary of the British sovereign’s reign will also see the unexpected return of Diana Ross. Fifteen years after her last live performance in the UK, the Upside Down singer will take to one of the three stages that will occupy the entire Palace Square to give the 20,000 spectators on site a unique moment.
To celebrate 70 years of Elizabeth II’s reign, a great mix of genres
“I have had the honor of meeting the Queen several times in my life, sometimes in the presence of my family. Her Majesty continues to be an incredible inspiration to so many people around the world. During the concert, the Queen of England will also be celebrated by the great Alicia Keys, Sir Elton John, Sir Rod Stewart, the young George Erza, or Nile Rodgers, Andrea Bocelli and the one that the English nicknamed “the hero of the United Kingdom at Eurovision” for his 2nd place in the contest in 2022, Sam Ryder.
Personalities from the world of cinema will also be present during these three days of celebrations. Starting with the star of Top Gun, who already came to pay tribute to Her Majesty in early May with Helen Mirren, Tom Cruise
