Prince Albert of Monaco happy: He poses with his children Jazmin and Alexandre

If he took several years to recognize his first two children, conceived out of wedlock, Prince Albert II of Monaco now poses in their company, proof of a peaceful relationship with Jazmin and Alexandre.

It is an atypical family reunion for a princely family. Albert II of Monaco found the first two of his four children, Jazmin Grace Grimaldi and Alexandre Grimaldi-Coste, during a day in New York. If the reunion is atypical, it’s because these are the prince’s two children born out of wedlock, long before he met Princess Charlene and the birth of Gabriella and Jacques de Monaco, their 7-year-old twins.

On Instagram, Albert II of Monaco appears indeed sat with his daughter Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, 30, born of his union with the real estate agent Tamara Jean Rotolo, and his son Alexandre Grimaldi-Coste, 19, born of his union with the stylist Nicole Coste. It is the latter who shared the family photo on its social networks, accompanied by the legend “paternally king”.

What status do Jazmin and Alexandra have in Monaco?

If the princely status of Gabriella and Jacques de Monaco are obviously certain, the vagueness has long hovered over that of Jazmin and Alexander, recognized belatedly by Albert II. In 2006, the prince clarified the situation in an interview given to the American journalist Larry King. He confirmed that Jazmin Grace Grimaldi and Alexandre Grimaldi-Coste would be among the heirs of his personal fortune, and that they would be financially taken care of until their majority and in case of need. In accordance with article 10 of the Constitution of Monaco, Albert II added that his two children born out of wedlock would not be included in the order of succession to the throne. It is Jacques de Monaco who is the first in the order of succession.
