Despite the injunction of King Charles, the Duke of York refused to leave the sumptuous house of Windsor. To free the manor of the Royal Lodge, he would have imposed certain conditions.
Prince Andrew returns to the charge. This Friday, March 3, The Mirror reported that he was pressuring his brother, Charles III, to benefit from a royal estate in case of moving. A few days ago, the king asked him to leave the manor of Royal Lodge, as part of the budget cuts imposed on the royal family.
The Duke of York was fiercely opposed to the departure, although he expected “to be unable to maintain the Royal Lodge, its swimming pool and its 40 hectares of land,” a source told the Mirror. Sarah Ferguson’s ex-husband has reportedly changed his plan of attack and is seeking a “big role” in the royal family. He would now offer his services to manage some of the most prestigious estates in the British Crown’s purse, including Balmoral Castle. “He is ready to take on the responsibility of a big role in the management of an estate and still thinks he is far too young to retire,” confided the same source.
Andrew may move to Frogmore Cottage
The financial situation of the disgraced prince still keeps a part of mystery. The Mirror says he is “in debt”, but the sale of his comfortable Swiss chalet has brought him £17 million. Another eviction notice addressed to the Sussexes has also animated the British press this week. King Charles III reportedly asked Harry and Meghan Markle to leave Frogmore Cottage and offer it to none other than his brother… Prince Andrew.
