“Exclusive: Katy Perry Spills Behind-the-Scenes Details of Her Involvement in Charles III’s Coronation – You Won’t Believe What Happened!”

With the coronation of King Charles III fast approaching, singer Katy Perry, who will be performing at the concert scheduled for the day after the historic event, has revealed that she is “looking forward” to her appearance on stage.

There are only a few days left until the event of the year – and probably more – takes place at Westminster Abbey. King Charles III will be crowned alongside his wife Camilla on Saturday 6 May. After these historic festivities, two days of celebrations are planned, including a major concert the following day at Windsor Palace headlined by Lionel Richie, Andrea Bocelli and Katy Perry. The latter spoke to Extra media on Tuesday 25 April about the details of her participation.

On the invitation itself, the girlfriend of actor Orlando Bloom explained: “It was very royal. It was cursive writing that I’ve never seen before… I loved it.” She went on to explain why she agreed to take part, when many refused: “I’m an ambassador for one of his foundations, the British Asian Trust, which is mainly dedicated to the fight against child trafficking… and it matched all my values when he (Charles III) asked me to sing.” The Firework singer said she was “excited” and “honoured” to celebrate the coronation of Prince William’s father.

The concert will also feature performances by the famous 1990s boy band Take That, in its current form and without one of its star members, Robbie Williams, and classical music composer Alexis Ffrench. The American singer also opened up about another invitation she received from Buckingham Palace to stay at Windsor Castle when she comes to the UK. “I’m very excited… I’m going to be posting a lot (on her social networks) because I’m going to be in a castle, for real. It’s crazy,” she revealed. In addition to the coronation ceremony and concert, the three days of festivities include an invitation for all Britons to take part in the “big coronation lunch”, as well as neighbourhood parties to “celebrate friendship”. Monday 8 May, a public holiday, is intended to raise awareness and encourage people to volunteer.
