King Charles III hospitalized for his cancer: why Camilla is champing at the bit

This Thursday, March 27, King Charles III was hospitalized due to some side effects related to his cancer. This worrying news no doubt worried Camilla, as reported by The Daily Mail.

A hardworking man. More than a year after announcing that he had a form of cancer, King Charles III was hospitalized. This Thursday, March 27, the 76-year-old sovereign was admitted to the London Clinic in Marylebone, London, because his treatment caused side effects. “Following a scheduled medical treatment […] for cancer this morning, the King experienced temporary side effects that required a short period of observation in hospital,” Buckingham Palace announced in a statement. Even though he returned to his Clarence House home a few hours later, King Charles III should probably take some time to rest.

At least, that’s what Camilla must have asked him. And for good reason: the Queen has repeatedly expressed her concern when her husband continued to work despite his illness and treatment. This is evidenced by the revelations in the Daily Mail on Friday, March 28. As reported by our British colleagues, Camilla reportedly shared her frustration with those around her because King Charles III stood for over an hour at a grand reception held on Wednesday, March 26, at Buckingham Palace. During the event, the mother of Thomas and Laura Parker Bowles reportedly asked her husband to slow down.

Camilla, her fears for King Charles III’s health: She wants him to slow down

This is not the first time Camilla has expressed her fears about her husband’s health. According to information from the Daily Beast, published in August 2024, the Queen was very surprised to see that King Charles III had taken a very late vacation, preferring to fulfill royal obligations during the summer. “Camilla would have been deeply unhappy that she didn’t start her vacation until Monday (August 19, editor’s note),” a source close to Camilla assured, before concluding: “Of course, she understands that it was very important and that she won’t try to tell Charles what to do, but this seems like extraordinary timing. She wants him to slow down. She’s worried he’s working too hard, and this is even before the Australian tour (which was scheduled for October of that year, editor’s note).
