Surprise! King Charles III pays tribute to Diana before her coronation

As revealed by our Anglo-Saxon colleagues of Tatler, this Monday, March 27, a book of photos on King Charles III has recently been published by the National Portrait Gallery on the occasion of his upcoming coronation. Inside, one picture in particular catches the attention because Lady Di is the star.

On May 6, Charles III will be officially crowned at Westminster Abbey. In the meantime, fans of British royalty can always wait and discover the new book from the National Portrait Gallery, a famous London museum, dedicated to the life of the monarch. The Making of a King, as it is called, has been available for sale since March 23. This book reveals many pictures of the father of Princes Harry and William, but not only. Indeed, in this one, we find a magnificent photo of his ex-wife, Lady Diana, taken by John Swannell in 1994.

Our Anglo-Saxon colleagues of Tatler share, this Monday, March 27, this photo of the princess in black and white, on which we see her laugh with her two sons, very tactile with her. The mother of the family’s tender gaze is turned towards her youngest son, Harry, whose expression is touching as he stares at her with great love. The book, which gathers 70 portraits related to King Charles III, shows a more intimate side of him and his bond with his family. These works are the result of multiple photographers, such as Cecil Beaton or Lord Snowdon and they are a tribute to the sovereign. It was not stated whether King Charles III had a say in the book and the choice of images before publication, but it is likely that his staff consulted him since this is a book dedicated to the upcoming coronation of the monarch.

The secret of the love between Queen Consort Camilla and her husband

The collection of photos also includes a picture of Lady Diana with the former Prince of Wales with their two children. This one was taken in the years before their separation. A way to continue to make the late mother of Princes William and Harry exist, even if she is unfortunately no longer of this world to attend the next coronation of her ex-husband. However, the sovereign will be able to count on the presence of his wife Camilla, the Queen Consort, during this important event. Moreover, on March 21, in the columns of People magazine, the royal photographer Arthur Edwards spoke about the love between the king and his wife. He estimated that it is the humor of the latter that continues to fuel the flame between the lovebirds, year after year.
