King Charles III was hospitalized on Thursday March 27 following side effects from his cancer treatment. His son Prince Harry has once again been sidelined. Here’s how he got the bad news.
Another blow for Prince Harry. While his father was admitted to hospital this Thursday, March 27, after suffering side effects from his cancer treatment, Meghan Markle’s husband was not told. The Duke of Sussex has once again been sidelined from England’s royal family. According to The Mirror on March 28, the Prince was not informed of King Charles III’s health problems until Buckingham Palace made the official announcement. “Following scheduled medical treatment […] for cancer this morning, the King experienced temporary side effects which required a short period of observation in hospital,” the statement read. Prince Harry would thus have learned of his father’s hospitalization from the media like the rest of the population.
Royal experts explained to our British colleagues that the palace did not want to “cause unnecessary concern” for Prince Harry, who lives thousands of miles away from his family. Especially as this week has been an emotional one for Prince Harry. On Wednesday March 26, the Duke of Sussex resigned as patron of his NGO Sentebale. In addition, a scandal concerning another of the Prince’s charities emerged on March 27.

King Charles III’s state of health worries his wife
Even if the palace has not wanted to worry Prince Harry about his father’s state of health, one person is very worried about King Charles III, his wife, Queen Camilla, and she’s not hiding it. Her husband was back home at Clarence House only hours after his hospitalization to rest. The Daily Mail reported that the Queen has expressed her concern on several occasions since her husband resumed his duties despite his cancer and treatment. Charles III’s wife reportedly expressed her frustration when he remained on his feet for over an hour at a large reception held at the palace on Wednesday March 26. During the evening, she reportedly asked him to stand down.
