Coronation of King Charles III : Meghan Markle absent ? Revelations…

Meghan Markle may not be present at the coronation of King Charles III on May 6, 2023. The British press reveals why Prince Harry should travel without his wife.

She could well remain on the other side of the Atlantic. Meghan Markle would be the sacrificial piece in this chess game that King Charles III and his son, Prince Harry, are playing. Since his attacks in number against his brother and future king, William, as well as against Camilla, the queen consort, the Duke of Sussex is not sure to receive his invitation for the coronation of his father, next May 6. If some observers, like The Mirror, are sure that the king wants to see his son present for his big day, some lean towards an intermediate thesis so that the Sussex couple does not seem to give ground: “Prince Harry could make an express return trip to Britain for 48 hours to the coronation of King Charles, without his wife Meghan,” announced the Daily Mail on February 5, 2023.

The official reason would be simple to give: their eldest child, Archie, turns four on May 6, the day of Charles’ coronation. Meghan would therefore be responsible for staying with the child to organize the festivities, while Harry would leave for 48 hours in the United Kingdom. A solution that allows the couple not to take too much light that day and show the king, they still make an effort. The beginning of the reconciliation?

Meghan and Harry, unloved in the United States

It is not good to be displayed with the Sussexes at the moment. The Duke and Duchess have indeed a very bad image, especially in their host country. British royal commentator Nile Gardiner, in particular, highlighted the fact that Meghan Markle and Harry are not necessarily appreciated by all, because of their too many confidences, sometimes frowned upon. “The Sussexes are increasingly unpopular in the United States,” he launched on Twitter, describing them as real “pariahs in the UK.” Moreover, according to a recent Newsweek poll of a panel of 2,000 people, the former actress is less popular with Americans than Queen Consort Camilla. This is partly explained by the revelations made by the father of Archie and Lilibet in his memoirs (but also during the various interviews given since the release of his book), in which he openly criticizes his stepmother.
