In an interview with the Telegraph Magazine, published this Saturday, March 4, Sarah Ferguson revealed a strategic advice given to her by Elizabeth II.
Despite her divorce with Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson had a good relationship with Elizabeth II. In the columns of the Telegraph Magazine, published this Saturday, March 4, the Duchess of York revealed a piece of advice that the late Queen had given her. “Be yourself Sarah. All we want is for you to be yourself,” Elizabeth II had advised her former daughter-in-law. With melancholy, the mother of the York princesses admitted: “I always found it difficult. It took me all this time to get there.”
In the same interview, the author of novels assured that she will always be grateful to have had “even one minute of Her Majesty’s time.” In recent years, the two women had grown closer. “In the last three years, her poor son [editor’s note: entangled in the Epstein affair] has been going through such a tumultuous time, and I think Her Majesty was very relieved. I was able to help her, and we became even closer,” Sarah Ferguson detailed. Before concluding: “I always admired and adored her. Really, she was more of a mother to me than my own mother.”
“She was my total idol.”
In a recent interview with People, Prince Andrew’s ex-wife had already spoken of her admiration for Elizabeth II. “She was so brilliant at putting you at ease. She had the most incredible faith of anyone I’ve ever met. [… She knew how to make people feel good,” she revealed. The new royal corgis owner had also glorified, “She was my total idol.”
