Coronation of King Charles III: and if finally his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet had a role to play?

From their titles to their place in the royal family, the situation of Archie and Lilibet has been at the heart of debates for several months. With the coronation of Charles III fast approaching, it remains to be seen what Harry and Meghan Markle‘s children can bring to the event.

The coronation of Charles III is getting closer. Scheduled for May 6 at Westminster Abbey, the heir to the English throne will be officially crowned king after the death of the late Queen Elizabeth II. A historic event that has not taken place since 1953. However, two months before the fateful date, many questions still remain. Indeed, the question of the arrival of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle remains in suspense.

Even if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have received an invitation despite the many attacks against their clan, they would not yet have responded. So what will happen to their children? According to information from the Daily Mail, Archie and Lilibet would be given a role on condition that their parents confirm their participation.

According to the British media, Charles III would have imagined two scenarios that would take into account the presence or not of the Sussex couple. If Meghan and Harry decide to go to the coronation, the organizers will open discussions from that point on the roles that the couple’s children can play. In the event of a refusal, the repercussions would not upset the Palace’s plans. What is certain is that the King is determined to put the quarrels aside and offer a place to Archie and Lilibet as he has granted to their cousins, George, Charlotte and Louis, the three children of Kate Middleton and Prince William.

How would this reunion be announced?

According to the Daily Mail, it seems that the roles of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have been defined by His Majesty. The children of the Prince and Princess of Wales will be part of the king’s procession after the ceremony at Westminster. If Archie – who will celebrate his 4th birthday that day – and his little sister, Lilibet are part of the party, Charles III should grant them privileges equal to their cousins. Honors that will not be the same for their parents Meghan and Harry.

Indeed, the other members of the royal family would not have the intention to give them a warm welcome. According to some sources, the exiles would have no or few allies on the day: “They will be welcomed very coldly by many people. One of them even told me: ‘I hope they will be sitting in Iceland,'” a person close to the family told the Daily Mail on March 11. “A lot of family members don’t want anything to do with them anymore. If they have to see them at the coronation, so be it, but they don’t want to socialize with them,” he said. It remains to be seen what the final answer will be for the couple, now California citizens.
