Coronation of King Charles III: we finally know who will be on the balcony of Buckingham… and there are surprises!

Who will be present on May 6 on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, next to Charles III? According to the revelations of The Mirror, the sovereign seems to have decided the question. And it may offend some …

A month before the D-day, the coronation of Charles III takes shape. After the list of diplomatic guests, other details of the prestigious ceremony, which will again put the Windsors in the foreground, are filtering through the press. It is notably the case of the famous salute to the balcony, the obligatory passage of the British sovereigns and their families. And, like other crucial points of the event, Charles III seems determined to bring his personal touch. According to exclusive information from the Mirror, the monarch, who distinguishes himself from his predecessors by breaking with certain traditions, would have once again demanded to lighten the protocol, wishing to be surrounded only by the core of the royal family.

But who does he include in this inner circle? According to sources close to the firm, relayed by The Mirror, the time will not be for great reconciliations. It is indeed planned that only the most devoted and active members of the Crown can appear at his side. Charles III should be surrounded by his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, his eldest son, William, his wife Catherine Princess Of Wales and their three children. Princess Anne and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, as well as Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, will of course be present.

As for Princes Andrew and Harry, they should shine by their absence. A drastic decision, that Charles III assumes: “The king has been very clear … he wants to represent the monarchy,” says one of the tabloid’s informants. “There is little room for sentiment, this is a state occasion, not a family reunion and it is right that only family members who work for the Crown are there at this great public moment,” added the same source.

Harry and Meghan: the scathing message of Sarah Ferguson

And if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not have a place on the family photo, the presence of the Sussex couple at the coronation remains more than uncertain. Indeed, although invited to the ceremony at Westminster Abbey, the couple has not yet responded to the invitation of the king. Will they be part of the party, at the risk of focusing once again all eyes on their actions? For Sarah Ferguson, the mother of princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Meghan and Harry can’t have it both ways: “You can’t have it both ways with one foot in, one foot out. We stay or we go out,” said the ex-wife of Prince Andrew in an interview with The Independent on April 5. Whatever their choice, the Duke and Duchess will not be unanimous.
