Coronation of Charles III: discover the special emoji created for the ceremony!

In conjunction with the coronation of Charles III, which will take place on May 6, Buckingham Palace has announced the release of a special emoji, which will allow everyone to celebrate this great day in the lives of the British.

The countdown is on. In less than a month, Charles III will cap, in Westminster Abbey, the crown of St. Edward, intended only for the coronations of English sovereigns, then British. On this occasion, Buckingham Palace announced on Sunday, April 9, the release of an emoji with the effigy of the said crown. It will appear on Twitter when users of the social network write one of the following hashtags: #Coronation #CoronationConcert #TheBigHelpout #CoronationWeekend #CoronationBigLunch.

This computer wink is not without reminding the one that had been set up for the platinum jubilee of Elizabeth II, when Buckingham Palace had announced the release of a corgi emoji. From her accession to the throne until her death in September 2022, the mother of Charles III raised nearly thirty dogs belonging to this breed. At the time of her death, her faithful four-legged companions, Muick and Sandy, had been adopted by her former daughter-in-law, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York.

Charles III shunned by the music industry?

One of these hashtags refers to the post-coronation concert, which is expected to take place the day after the ceremony at Westminster. If several big names in British music, such as Adele, Ed Sheeran, the Spice Girls or Elton John, were approached to sing at the event, none of them wanted to participate. According to The Sun, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, the three members of the band Take That, could be the headliners of the concert. Let’s hope that this new emoji, accompanied by its hashtag, helps Charles III to increase his popularity in the music industry…
