In the columns of the Daily Mail, this Friday, January 13, Gary Goldsmith, Catherine Princess Of Wales‘s uncle, signed a scathing tribune against Prince Harry. As a reminder, the latter unveiled, on Tuesday January 10, his memoirs entitled The Substitute (published by Fayard). Thus, the brother of Carole Middleton has burned: “There is little chance that he will be invited to the coronation of the King. I would be happy if he never set foot in this country again.”
According to Gary Goldsmith, Prince Harry’s memoirs are “petulant” and “self-serving.” In the columns of the Daily Mail, he regretted a work “sprinkled” with “twaddle.” “To be honest, I do not believe most of it,” he wrote. The fifty-year-old assured that “few people have been convinced by this snarky and irritating book”. The main interested party felt that Prince Harry “crossed the line”.
An impossible reconciliation
Also, according to Gary Goldsmith, the Duke of Sussex “is delusional if he seriously believes that [this book] will bring him closer to the reconciliation – which he claims to want – with the Royal family. For Catherine Princess Of Wales‘s uncle, the publication of The Substitute makes “the yawning chasm between them even more unbridgeable”. Disillusioned, he concluded, “Will her family ever forgive her? I doubt it.” Definitely, this book does not leave anyone indifferent…
