Charles III: his surprise presence at a baptism… and it is not that of Lilibet!

After being forced to decline the invitation to the baptism of Lilibet Diana, Charles III attended the baptism of Alice Elizabeth Windell, six months old, who has no connection with the royal family of England. A surprise guest that delighted the parents of the girl, as reported by the DailyMail.

Charles III played the surprise guests of a christening. This Sunday, March 19, a British couple did not expect to see the king attend the ceremony in honor of their daughter Alice Elizabeth Windell, six months old. But the 74-year-old sovereign is a faithful Sunday Mass attendee, so he never misses a service. Thus, he found himself in a church in the Cotswolds, southwest England, among the guests of Christopher and Rebecca, reports the DailyMail.

An “adorable and totally unexpected surprise” for the couple of young parents who are not close to forgetting this moment. Little Alice Elizabeth Windell, on the other hand, will be able to boast of having been baptized in front of the Supreme Governor of the Church of England, unlike the latter’s granddaughter Lilibet Diana. Invited to the baptism of Prince Harry’s daughter, celebrated in the greatest secrecy on March 3 in Montecito (California), the king was conspicuous by his absence.

William, Catherine Princess of Wales, Charles and Camilla have declined the invitation to the baptism of Lilibet. According to information from our sources, Charles III and Camilla Parker Bowles “could never have traveled to the United States for such a private family event”, for “reasons of security and urgent affairs of state”. Prince William and Catherine Princess of Wales were also reportedly invited, but did not attend their niece’s christening. According to the Daily Mail, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were at Pippa Middleton’s daughter Rose’s two days earlier.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were surrounded by “20 to 30” of their relatives, among them Doria Ragland, the mother of the Duchess of Sussex, but also Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale, the sisters of Lady Diana, with whom Prince Harry has kept good relations. The presence of his uncle Charles Spencer has not been confirmed. Close to his cousin, it is possible that Princess Eugenie attended the baptism, but nothing has been confirmed. Finally, the director Tyler Perry has been chosen to be the godfather of Lilibet Diana.

  1. This site is call Royal News but they continue to,
very unprofessionally, misname Catherine Princess of Wales. Did they not notice that she got married a number of years ago and the media have been asked on numerous occasions to not call her Kate. Such bad manners.
