This Wednesday, March 29, King Charles III arrived in Germany for an official trip of three days. For his first walkabout in Berlin, a supporter kindly offered him a rather original gift.
The idea is original and rather daring. This Wednesday, March 29, King Charles III arrived in Germany for his first state visit, alongside his wife Camilla Parker Bowles. Around noon, the royal couple landed in Berlin before a first crowd bath in the streets of the capital. Many Germans have made the trip to see the British monarch. And some have even reserved some surprises. Like this man who gave the king a special gift. A supporter gave him a paper crown. A Burger King crown, more precisely, smiling at him: “It’s for you, if you want it!”
Charles III waited a long time to receive his crown, until the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022. On May 6, the coronation of the 74-year-old king will be held. While waiting for this historic event, the sovereign has begun his official travels. He was supposed to go to France, to Paris and then to Bordeaux this week. But because of the mobilizations against the pension reform, the visit was finally cancelled.

The gift offered by this German supporter was filmed by the Daily Mail correspondent Rebecca English. “Beautiful scenes unfolded today at the king’s first walkabout in Berlin,” she wrote on Twitter with a video. “A Burger King hat for the king. Too funny. Good idea Berlin!” commented one Twitter user. “This walk… Very nice to see,” wrote another. During this meeting with the inhabitants of the other side of the Rhine, King Charles III met a rather persistent little girl. She “firmly” asked the monarch not to leave too quickly, so that she could take a picture of him properly.
Tuesday, March 7, during a trip of the royal couple to Colchester, Camilla Parker Bowles had also received a gift of the same taste. During a crowd bath, a young woman had handed him a crown stamped Burger King. The scene, which was filmed and posted on social networks, took place in front of a McDonald’s.
